Chapter 4 — The No-Hype Prompt Builder

One button, no typing

Go to nohypeaiskeptic.info right now and press the example button that says Plan a garage cleanout. Don't type anything — just read the finished prompt it builds, and notice the four parts of the contractor briefing sitting right where chapter 3 said they'd be. Then press Copy, paste it into your tool from chapter 2, and hit Enter.

Total investment: zero typed characters. If your garage happens to need cleaning, this may be the most profitable minute in the book. Pearl's assessment stands: it talks better than you type. It talks better than I type too.

The Box 2 cheat sheet

Box 2 — your situation — is where good answers are won. Here's what belongs in it, by neighborhood. One or two of each is plenty: House and yard projects: rough measurements or age of the thing, what it's made of, your budget ceiling, your honest skill level, what you've already tried, deadline if any. Garden: your city or zip, hours of sun the spot gets, your watering habits, what's thriving or dying nearby. Paperwork: who sent the document, what kind it is, the specific parts that confuse you, what outcome you're hoping for, any deadline printed on it. Travel: who's going and ages, the month, mobility realities, budget, what you love and what you're done pretending to love. Kitchen: what's actually on hand, dietary lines that can't be crossed, time and energy available, equipment you own. Tech trouble: brand and model (it's on a sticker somewhere), what it's doing versus what it should do, exactly what you've pressed so far. When in doubt, remember Box 3's last dropdown choice: ask me questions, then recommend. You never have to know what matters. You just have to answer the phone when the contractor calls back.

Works in ChatGPT, Claude, or any of their cousins.
